– Why Dialogue Is Failing in Korea
These days, even among families, political conversation has become nearly impossible. Why?Because we no longer speak from the same foundation of meaning.
I often find myself bewildered when I see public opinion split almost 50/50 on major national issues. When I was young, the lines between right and wrong felt clear—even a child could see them. But today, things feel radically different.
From the current president to former first ladies, I often ask myself:What is justice anymore? What is wrong, and what is right?Am I the one who’s mistaken? This internal turbulence, this cognitive dissonance, has become a regular companion.
And if my own inner dialogue is confused, how can we possibly expect clear dialogue with others?
It’s like I’m talking about Gwangju in Gyeonggi, while the other person is thinking of Gwangju in Jeolla—Same word, different reality.
So perhaps the problem isn’t simply that we “can’t talk.”Maybe the real issue is this:
We’re using the same words, but understanding them in completely different ways.
Take the word "fairness."
The ruling party defines fairness as “equal starting points.”
The opposition defines fairness as “balanced outcomes.”
Same term.Completely different logic.Because their educational, generational, and media backgrounds are completely different.
Today, we live inside algorithm-driven realities.Your feed and mine are nothing alike.Even “truth” itself seems to have become politically segmented.
It’s no longer a matter of disagreement. It’s a matter of disjointed cognition. We’re not just arguing. We’re not even perceiving the same world.
So here’s what I believe:
Human dialogue alone is no longer enough to bridge the divide.Emotion blocks logic.Tribal loyalty blocks listening. But AI is different.
AI can summarize facts without emotional distortion. It can compare opposing views fairly.
That’s why we built LumiSysGPT at Harbor Technology—not as another chatbot, but as a framework for reconstructing shared recognition.
In a world where people interpret the same word in fundamentally different ways,we need a new layer of meaning,a new cognitive protocol that can realign how society thinks, talks, and connects.
📡 Let meaning—not just data—flow across the network.Let AI become the bridge.
